Five Holiday Boudoir Outfits That Will Make You Sparkle.

I spent last week on the beach, so it felt like a shock to get back and realize that the holidays are almost upon us. An album of your boudoir shoot can make an amazing present for your significant other, but picking outfits can be hard. Most women want to be thematic without dressing up in a sexy santa suit. Today I’ve put together five festive outfits that will make you look and feel great-and not a bit of faux red velvet in sight!

This teddy is available through Bella Bella Boutique, and is the perfect holiday boudoir piece. The gold mesh will make you sparkle, and it has a nice peek-a-boo coverage that is perfect for a boudoir shoot. Once you’re done with the shoot, throw a black tank on under with and pair it with jeans and gold heels for a killer going out ensemble.

If you want a more traditional holiday look without all the cheese, this Stella McCartney set is perfect. The half cup bra oozes sex appeal while keeping you covered, and I’ve never met a suspender belt I didn’t love.

Speaking of suspender belts, this set from Hips and Curves is a great combination of modern and vintage elements. I love the black lace overlay and how the belt is set to flatter your waist and give you more coverage. You can wear this with a cami like the picture shows, or get racier and pair it with a red mesh or quarter cup bra.

I like to talk about boudoir sessions as a way to give the gift of yourself to your partner, but nothing expresses this idea so beautifully as this set from Amourouse. She makes both velvet and non-velvet versions, but I love the dressy look that the black velvet gives the bra.

To finish up, I love this gorgeous Masquerade set. The green is a nice nod to the holidays and this time of year which lets you look classy rather than thematic. Pair this set with a silk robe and you would have an amazing outfit for a boudoir session!

The Best Boudoir Outfits for Brides

For the next few weeks, I’ll be devoting one day a week to exploring the outfit choices for specific kinds of boudoir sessions. I thought it might be best to start with the most popular, so today we’re covering brides!

Boudoir sessions are incredibly popular with brides to be. A boudoir album is a wonderful pre-wedding gift, especially when things get stressful during the later planning stages.

I love this Lavit babydoll set from Classy Bride. It’s a fun take on the classic bridal lingerie, and there are all kinds of great photographic possibilites with the semi-open back.

Image via Hanky Panky

This is another modern take on the classic white chemise. It’s not fussy, but it has beautiful detailing that makes it perfect for a boudoir photography session. It’s easy to see why Hanky Panky has such a following among brides.

This is another Hanky Panky piece, and is a great alternative to all of those thongs that have bridal sayings on them. The back also has great shape and coverage, which makes it ideal for brides who don’t want to bare all, so to speak.

I love traveling, and this FairyGothMother corset reminds me of old world Spain. It’s modern while still retaining that perfect feminine flounce.

This Mary Green gown is another modern take on an older look, this time in a silk georgette fabric. This gown will show off all your curves without revealing too much.

If you want to get away from the classic white bridal lingerie, these Mary Green panties are a great alternative. The set of silk boy shorts gives you lots of colors to choose from for your session, but it all comes down to the same message.

What’s your favorite bridal lingerie for a boudoir session? Let me know in the comments!

Hotel Boudoir Session with Ms. A

Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking images of Ms. A! She wanted some sexy images of herself to present to her boyfriend for Christmas. She has a lovely look to her and has this quiet but sexy/sultry vibe going on.

I love the way she’s captured in these images and I can’t wait to see her boyfriends reaction. I’m thinking he’ll be quite happy on Christmas morning:)

Wanderers Wednesday – The Joys of Winter Cruising

When most people think of cruising it’s usually about hopping on a boat in the summer time, and chatting it up with all the other folks taking a summer break. Usually the school kids are on their holiday breaks or college is out of season and the cruise lines are loving every chaotic minute of it.

But remember, you don’t have to stick to cruising in the summer.

And heck, even if it is snowing and blistering cold in your neck of the woods, the weather may be dandy somewhere else.

Some of the advantages of off peak cruising are that the prices can potentially be cheaper, there are less crowds, you may be able to get a better room for the price, and you get to escape whatever winter weather you’re currently in:)

Of course, there are probably other advantages but those are what are on my mind. We’re off to New Orleans and the Western Caribbean on Friday and I am definitely excited. Although I live in California and the weather isn’t terrible, I long for relaxing in the sun and laying out on a warm beach.

We’re still going to be in the US so we wont be relaxing in 90 degree weather but it still gives a nice break from the fog and high 50 temps I’m currently experiencing. As I check out weather.com right now, the high for Jamaica will be 81 whereas San Francisco will be 67. Not bad. Not bad at all!

As I mentioned in a previous post I’ll sailing on Royal Caribbean which will be a first. I’m curious to see how it is since my brother just came back from a different RC tip that went to Bermuda and wasn’t at all pleased with it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be an exciting, fun, picture filled trip so we’ll see how it goes!

I’ll be posting pictures and some fun updates as the vacation starts. Stay tuned!
