While thinking about a potential What to Wear post, it occurred to me that while many of the styles I discuss and most the the photos I shoot revolve around the bedroom, Iʼve never really touched on what most people actually wear in the bedroom– pajamas! Okay, so the word “pajamas” itself isnʼt exactly sexy, but if you think that sleep and loungewear is restricted to flannels and big t-shirts, think again. This week Iʼm showing you What to Wear (to bed), and these are options youʼd love to stay in all day, and even bring onset for a boudoir shoot. Yes, theyʼre that fabulous.

First of all, robes. You canʼt go wrong with a good robe. Theyʼre usually one size fits all so you donʼt have to worry about proper fit, and even though others who see you in it usually focus on the fact that with a simple tug of the string it can fly open– all youʼll be thinking about is how darn comfy it is! You can go ultra femme with this long and feminine option from Myla, or an edgier bedroom wrap like this Kriss Soonik piece.
But what to wear under the robe? Camisole and tap pants are adorable when coupled together. Not to mention theyʼre usually found in light and airy fabrics making them perfect for lounging on balmy summer days and nights. Classic colors like this Lola Haze piece are great any time of the year, but as springtime rolls around you can have some more fun with prints and bright colors as well.
Finally, babydolls are usually considered lingerie, but when found in fabrics that are of high quality and comfortable enough to sleep in, I donʼt see why you wouldnʼt want to get some shut eye and wake up already feeling like a total bombshell. Gilda and Pearl makes this babydoll that ties as a halter and is free flowing from there, sounds relaxing right? Donʼt let the decadent materials and rich cream color make you think this is only for special occasions (but for some of us catching a full night of sleep is a special occasion!).
Whether you want to justify a lazy Sunday in proper fashion, or want to incorporate loungewear and sleepwear into your photo shoot, remember that pajamas can be sexy.
