Well, New York Fashion Week just wrapped up and as always there’s more than enough to get excited about! But before we delve into Spring/Summer 2015, we have to get through this Fall first, right? Today we’re featuring some great Fall looks that you can start wearing as soon as you’d like (weather permitting).

It’s always funny how upon the first cool breeze, or sign of the leaves changing colors most people get so excited for the cooler weather. Somehow we forget how much we’re begging for spring to arrive by the time we hit February…But there’s no way you’re over the cold weather already, so in the meantime how awesome is it that cozy, large, oversized knits are in? The one thing we all want to be wearing (large, warm, not skin-tight) during the winter is now encouraged by the all-mighty fashion industry. This look below is from H&M, and while they show that pants are optional, we also think it’d look great paired with leggings and boots for a chic look.

Colors play a huge part into determining the fashion for that season. And most people generally follow the rule that in warmer months you wear cooler, brighter colors, and in the colder months you wear deeper, warmer colors. While emeralds and burgundys aren’t going anywhere, we did see an increasing number of cooler tones. Check out Marc Jacobs pale blue designs, and Mui Mui who also used the same hue paired with hunter green in a winter garment.

Menswear for women always makes an appearance in one form or another during Fashion Week. And for Fall/Winter 2014, we saw it portrayed in both the more tailored suit looks, as well as menswear in a more rustic vibe. The more tailored menswear-inspired looks can range from full-on suits, to having a well-fitted blazer. Check out the balance of menswear and femininity in this Christian Dior look.

The Elie Tahair Fall 2014 ready to wear collection featured this look, which combines pants, a simple jacket, and masculine loafers. The shoes here are what sets the rocker-esque look apart from other similar styles.

So grab your largest sweater, your favorite bright springtime color, and a pair of sneakers, and you’ve at least taken a few new things away from the Fall/Winter 2014 fashion trends. Keep checking the blog for more amazing styles
