Last Sunday marked the first award show of 2015, which meant that there was a whole new slew of celebs sauntering down the red carpet, ready to make their first big appearance for the year. While the Golden Globes are meant to celebrate all of the talent within the TV and film industry, the celebrity arrivals and speeches often make just as many headlines due to their fashion–was it hit or miss? Since we’re all about positivity, we’re going to focus on a few of our favorite looks from the night.
We’ve watched her movies as silly as Superbad, as thought provoking as The Secret Life of Bees, and any interview she gives, she’s a perfect combination of goofy and glam. The young Emma Stone stepped onto the red carpet wearing Lanvin. Unlike the other women that night, Emma opted for trousers with a glittering top. The look was sophisticated, chic, and eye-catching, just like Emma!
Helen Mirren came out looking her best in a bright red Dolce and Gabbana dress. The sweetheart neckline embellished with just the right amount of glitz and glam was a mature way to show that even at age 69, you really never outgrow anything bedazzled. Her body looked absolutely amazing, what a perfect hourglass shape! Not to mention, Helen was wearing a blue pen pinned to the neckline as a tribute to Charlie Hebdo.
Not only is Orange is the New Black one of the hottest new shows on Netflix, but it turns out the stars of the show are pretty hot themselves! Uza Aduba, who was nominated for her role as “Crazy Eyes” on the show, appeared wearing a jewel and glitter covered halter top from Randi Raham. I have to say, her style off the screen is a little better than her on-screen jumpsuit.
Is it just me or does Kate Hudson get better looking with age? I guess it makes sense if you share the same genes with Goldie Hawn. Hudson, who is now 35, continued to make jaws drop in her white Atelier Versage gown. And this wasn’t just any designer gown, but with a super plunging neckline, and cutouts along the ribcage with sequined straps seemingly holding it all together. Of course she topped it off with a simple diamond bracelet and matching earrings, just because she can.
There was so much going on at the 72nd Annual Golden Globes, from Tina and Amy’s hilarious hosting skills to heartfelt speeches to, of course, the interviews and arrivals on the red carpet. What was your favorite look of the night?
