Unless you have been consciously avoiding it, it’s been pretty hard to ignore that Halloween is just around the corner. Last week I mentioned the influx of candy that has been invading our lives, and Halloween costumes have been doing just the same. I’ve noticed it depends on the person–some people love any excuse to play dress up and go all-out on a costume, but for others it can be downright exhausting and maybe even silly feeling to dress up in a costume for a party. Whether you’re doing it to humor the kids, attend a social gathering with friends, or because you’ve secretly been planning your costume since August…today were featuring glamorous options for Halloween costumes, and make-up.

We’ve all seen the costume that just adds the word “sexy,” or “naughty” in front of any profession or forest animal (sexy nurse, sexy cop, naughty fox…you get my point), but there are still costumes today that are both classy and attractive. Meaning you don’t have to just wear underwear to be a hit at the party. A favorite is the vintage inspired Holly Golightly costume. You can go for her classic look with the black dress and pearls, or her dressed down style with that infamous eye mask.

Next, makeup. This look could work if you’re going for a Black Swan type of feel, or if you just want an excuse to play around with some fun makeup ideas. The lace look can be pretty difficult to master, but creates dark and seducing vibes for a sexy and mysterious effect to any outfit. Certain blogs recommend placing lace fabric on your face with tape and coloring over it with cream based make-up. After you let it dry for a minute, remove the fabric and it should look just like this.

Similarly, these spider-web strokes around your eyes can add a dramatic feel when paired with false lashes. It’ll probably be a little easier to create this look than the lace mask, use just an eye-liner pencil and create some ghoulishly glamorous artwork.

Whether you’ve been looking forward to this day for a while, or have been trying to brainstorm excuses out of it…Halloween is officially here! Enjoy the candy and festivities by putting your own stylish spin on it!
