It’s officially the New Year, and although many of us have ambitiously started making resolutions and trying to become a “better you,” it can be hard to stick to those promises. One thing that shouldn’t be difficult is achieving great style.
Every season leather seems to reinvent itself. Whether its bags, accessories, or clothing, leather is one fabric that will certainly never go out of style. But for this week’s blog, I’m going to share some simple and fabulous ways to wear leather (without looking like you’re part of a motorcycle gang). From girly to edgy, there’s ways to work it into your wardrobe for every personality.
First up, leather leggings. For those of us who are still a bit apprehensive about wearing leggings as pants, leather leggings are sort of the perfect transition piece between skinny jeans and leggings. And depending on what you pair them with, they can give off completely different vibes. A sheer pastel top with combat-inspired boots keeps it edgy and chic.
Don’t forget, leather doesn’t have to be black! Though that’s the color that first comes to many people’s minds, opting for lighter hues like tan will give you more of a polished appearance that’s better for daytime than if you were to stick with all black. This camel colored skirt is paired with a blouse for a great daytime look, but you can also swap the blouse out for a lace top and easily switch your look for a nighttime vibe.
And while we’re on the topic of skirts, fit is also important. Don’t think you need something skintight or very structured to pull off leather, I love this more playful option. The extra movement in the skirt is totally unexpected from a typical leather design, but you can’t argue that that a leather with a little swing and pleats works for this look!

Subtle accents work just as well too, this blouse has a faux-leather trim that makes it just the perfect amount of edgy if you wanted to wear it to the office, or aren’t quite ready to jump into leather leggings yet! Similarly, a comfy looking sweater gets an update with leather elbow pads.
Of course accessories will always be fool-proof. Whether it’s a great leather bag, gloves, or knee high boots, those are all trends that we continue to see return each year. So what do you think? Are you ready to amp up your style this year?
