Is it 2013 already? I almost canʼt believe it. Between the holiday season sneaking up on me yet again, lots of last minute shopping and tons of holiday parties and surviving the apocalypse I think Iʼm definitely ready for 2013. I’m always looking for an excuse to add some extra sparkle, and New Years Eve party styles can sometimes be just as extravagant as Halloween. If you want to look like a walking disco ball, or just add some extra shine, here are some of my favorite New Year’s Eve looks. These looks can also be extended into 2013 as great sparkly boudoir or photoshoot styles!
This dress is perfect for a party. Itʼs short and sexy, but the pleats and flouncy structure make it playful and fun to dance in.

If you want to go for a more understated dress, but still want some shine, then shoes are the perfect opportunity to do so. A statement heel like these will go a long way with a simple black dress.
Metallics are also a great option for winter festivities if youʼre not into looking like you rolled around in a pile of glitter. However, if you do like the pile-of-glitter look, simple shapes are the perfect foundation for glitter and sequins. By choosing either sparkle but keeping a simple shape, the look doesnʼt become too overwhelming.
Similar to the metallic trend, a sparkly shoe, piece of jewelry, or clutch will go a long way as well.
Thereʼs no way I could leave out the beloved little black dress. Appropriate for almost any occasion, it can be dressed up or down. Make sure you buy the right silhouette to pair it with the right accessories. For instance, if youʼre going to pair it with a statement necklace, make sure you go for a lower neckline. Or if you have a killer bracelet or ring, be wary of longer sleeves which might detract from the impact of the jewelry. Some little black dresses add their own something special and you really donʼt have to add anything at all!
The key is to make sure you donʼt over do any look and have the perfect balance of sparkle, shine, elegance, and playfulness. Have a wonderful, fun, and safe 2013!
